Sept. 23, 2013
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I recently sent out an e-mail update encouraging you to attend transportation listening tours being held in several Washington cities by Senate Transportation Committee co-chairs Sen. Curtis King, R-Yakima, and Sen. Tracey Eide, D-Federal Way. Since then, King and Eide have decided to move the Oct. 2 meeting from Greater Spokane Inc. in downtown Spokane to the theater at Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley because of your overwhelming response.
This meeting is your opportunity to say “NO” to a gas tax increase supported by Democrats and Gov. Jay Inslee.
If you would like the background and why I’m opposing a gas tax increase, please read my Sept. 4th Freedom Agenda Transportation Update.
TAKE ACTION!
Oct. 2 – Spokane Valley
Central Valley High School theater, 821 S. Sullivan Rd.
6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
I highly encourage your attendance.
The Freedom Agenda stands for LOWER taxes
This state gas tax increase proposal by the governor and Democrats goes AGAINST The Freedom Agenda, which stands for LOWER taxes, less government and more freedom. I am concerned this gas tax proposal could be used as a political wedge to split conservatives from their traditional support groups – such as chambers of commerce, businesses, contractors and others that might be lured into this transportation revenue trap. Please make no mistake about it – this is WRONG for Washington.
We need reforms, NOT tax increases.
Please mark your calendar and attend the Spokane Valley transportation listening tour on Oct. 2. I look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,
Matt Shea
